It's kind of stupid to look at this board while reading the book I have to say. You should know that you took a risk when you haven't finished the book.

the book holds pretty true to the basic storyline, however (as is always the case when you abridge a full novel down to 90 minutes), a lot of scenes and plots were omitted.
and, yes, he dies of course, but in a manner totally different (and more macabre) than the movie depicts.
when you finish the book, let us know what you think.
I liked them both equally and wouldn't choose one over the other (that'd be like having to choose between you're two favorite meals!)
