Fat Boy

I wonder if there was some meaning to Allie naming the ice machine "Fat Boy," beyond his obvious obsession with nuclear war. Anyone who read the book remember if this is explored further? Any theories?

I'm pretty sure it was just that, i.e. nuclear war, because I believe he named the smaller version "Little Boy"

I thought he did too, but it appears he named them both Fat Boy.

I figured it was nothing beyond that, but with adaptations you never know.

The nukes were Fat Man and Little Boy, his machine took one word from each name. Fat Boy, and yeah I think it was just a play on his machine being designed for good as opposed to destruction, which kind of emphasized his arrogance.

A lot of people don't seem to realise just how well Harrison played this character, you could tell from the first scene that he wasn't gonna be very likeable throughout even if he was hoping to make the world better.

Opinions are just onions with pi in them.
