It was difficult to understand what they were saying

with their heavy accents... No captions on my DVD. I hate that.

Great ending.

The song with the same title as the movie, also featured in the movie, is most beautiful:

There were no captions on my dvd either, but I have a cheap Sony dvd player, and the remote has a subtitle key. It was worth every penny -$44!

How could you not understand what they were saying? Fair enough I'm British as well, but every one in the movie has a cockney accent which is one of the most recognised British accents.

Hard for me, too - I'm not from England, either. I watched it on Netflix online and no option for subtitles there. I kept backing it up over & over & some lines I couldn't understand after backing up about 3 times! It's possible the sound quality on this one just wasn't great either, which didn't help.

Question for the Brits on here: Do you have the same problems understanding American accents?

reply

Watching EastEnders for years will help me.

I have an extremely hard time understanding most American accents, but I'm Canadian.

Eh.

I found Simone hard to understand because she was quiet and mumbling.....and I'm English.
