Was this movie hyped up when it came out?
I wasn't around in the 80's, and didn't really discover this till much later from people who said it was by Stephen King and "one of the worst movies ever made". I recently saw it for the first time on IFC and really had trouble getting through it( But I must admit that Emilio Estevez and the little boy were actually good). So I have to ask, was this movie hyped up when it came out? I mean, it was not only written but also directed by Stephen King, one of the most popular and note-worthy writers in America and also starred Emilio Estevez who was a very popular actor at the time from the successes of The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, The Outsiders, and Repo Man. If so did this movie turn people off from King for a bit? It has quite a reputation as being a bad movie, I can imagine it might've pissed a lot of people off who paid to see it...
I've got an ignore list longer than a Chinese pone book.
