Brian Cox as Hannibal Lecktor

When I watched Brian Cox's portrayal of Hannibal, I thought he was better than Hopkins in Red Dragon (2002).

I thought Hopkins was brilliant as Hannibal in The Silence of the Lambs (1991).

But I thought his portrayal as Lector was good. But I feel that Brian Cox's capability especially in finding out what he wants (the address of Will Graham) is brilliant and terrifying at the same time. I feel that Brian Cox is much more interesting than Hopkins' Hannibal in Red Dragon (2002).

Good I want everyone to realise that Cox was the original and the marginal better Lektor in my oponion.

The more I pay attention (and I just saw him in several things lately) the more I am aware Brian Cox is a truly great actor.

Hopkins was very good in Silence of the Lambs, but even there a bit broad, frankly. See, of all things, F. Murray Abraham's "Harold Leacher" in the comedy Loaded Weapon 1. It's pretty good, but that he can play it so close to Hopkins and call it comedy says something.

Have you seen the movie L.I.E.? It's probably Cox's most interesting film performance to date.

No! But now I will. Watched Redhttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0972883/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_48 (not the action comedy one) recently, and that is totally worth it.

Good call on Nuremberg. I didn't think much of the movie as a whole (mostly thanks to Baldwin giving his typical bland non-performance), but Cox was spectacular as Herman Goering. He really had Goering's overbearing demeanor and larger-than-life persona down pat.

If we're talking 'Silence' or 'Red Dragon' in comparison, I prefer Cox.

But if we're talking 'Hannibal', I prefer Hopkins.
