Trinity Test 7.16.45

Did anyone else notice at the end of the film when all of the electrical leads to the core are being cut simultaneously that the digits on the LED of Paul's gadget read 7.16.45?

7.16.45 is July 17th, 1945, the date of the worlds's first nuclear detonation at Alamagordo, NM.

I doubt that it is coincidental on the part of the director, and a nice homage to the ground-breaking research and history from the original Manhattan Project.

how does 7.16.45 translate into July 17th, 1945?

reply

Because it doesn't blow up in the movie. It's just before the explossion like the day before the test. 7/16/45

Do you mind letting someone know you're about to write a spoiler?
