I'm amazed at all the vitriol aimed at this movie. Obviously it isn't very good but for whatever reason I enjoyed it. But the weird thing is all the criticisms like 'the army should have shot him sooner' or 'how could you steal plutonium so easily' etc. Is it any less likely than a boy making friends with a lost alien, some goons inventing a ghost capturing device or a crazy old guy making a time machine from a car? And are there any plotholes bigger than you can find in the most highly respected classic films (if he was on his own when he died how did anybody know Citizen Kane's last words were 'rosebud'?). The movie creates it's own crazy logic and sticks to it.
