You know what was TOTALLY unbelievable?
A 'very nice' Garden Condominimum, new building, $500 a month!?!?! COME ON!
I mean Really! Who writes this stuff!

Maybe not that unbelievable for a suburb of a small city like Ithaca NY back in 1986.
shareThe totally unbelievable part was the happy ending. One minute they are trying to shoot Paul Stevens, then the bomb is about to detonate, then they disarm it and everyone is so happy to be alive they just let him off the hook.
I was waiting to see him get arrested at least. WTF? They all just go on their merry ways?
Haha, I actually frowned at that moment too. Seems rather unrealistic even considering 25 years of inflation. Although you have to remember, it's not exactly like he's renting something in the middle of New York City. I live in the center of a big city in my country. If I would rent something even just a few kilometers further I could pay up to 50% less for the same value.
shareUsing an inflation calculator, $500 in 1986 would be equal to around $1,062 in 2012. Sound about right.

I'm just a patsy!
I don't know. In 1986 I had a decent triplex apartment for $250/mo. in a Seattle suburb.
In the mid 80's condominiums were still kind of laughed at in my neck of the woods- buying an apartment? Without land? WTF?
"Atlas Shrugged- Part 1"- NOW on DVD and Blu-Ray
The only totally unbelievable thing is that I actually watched this heavy handed ridiculous movie until the end.
if it was any good they'd have made an American version by now - Hank Hill
I guess you don't understand the concept of inflation. What was unbelievable was that Nixon was once a little cutie.
shareWhat else was totally unbelievable is that a nuclear scientist would invite a civilian into a top-secret nuclear weapons facility for a tour. He would have lost his security clearance immediately, and likely been prosecuted.
