The guy who wrote it was gay, but it seems as if you are buying into the stereotype that all homosexuals love musicals.

I know lots of straight people who love this film. Myself included.

Gays and musicals are a not inaccurate stereotype, and I'm sure this one has more than its fair share of gay fans. However, "Little Shop" is a rare musical that's universally beloved -- much like "Grease" -- by men, women and children. And also like "Grease," it's wildly inappropriate for kids, but there's something so absurdly likable, weirdly endearing and almost wholesome about the film that parents frequently lets their kids watch it.

"Little Shop" is like Disney... if Disney made movies about power-hungry savages. Oh wait, Snow White's wicked stepmother tried to have her heart cut out, a whale ate Pinocchio and Gepetto, the Queen of Hearts had people decapitated, Bambi's mother was murdered, the grim reaper tried to kill Darby O'Gill, Cruella DeVille schemed to turn puppies into coats, Travis was forced to shoot Old Yeller, Princess Mombi had a collection of women's heads, Judge Doom viciously killed cartoon characters, the Horned King resurrected an army of skeletons, Ichabod Crane was persued by an evil man without a head... Now that I think of it, perhaps a man-eating plant isn't so far removed from Disney, after all!

You watched a musical. That is all. Unless there was also a penis in your mouth at the time I'm pretty sure that it won't affect your sexuality in any way. There's no need to immediately watch 300 afterwards to make yourself feel more manly (even though that particular movie was actually quite gay)

It is BS that you become gay by exposure to certain media. Gay people watch tons of "straight" movies and it doesn't somehow turn them straight. And the only gayness in this movie was perhaps the S&M thing between Steve Martin and Bill Murray.

Besides I know plenty of straight people who loved the "Keep It Gay" scene in "The Producers"...

As for me I'm a bi woman so I don't really see what the big fuss/obsession is over orientation.
