Like me, where it wasn't at my local Blockbuster...blah I sure got lucky when I tried seeing if it'd be at Movielink (a site where you download entire movies with 24 hr viewing period) for only $2.99
wow.....my cheeks are so sticky right now :P yes, I cried!! Well well well, for some reason now I feel like talking in a British accent lol
The film, is, it's really nice and wonderful, obviously Helena is the star, she really is uhm....gosh I can't find the words, very convincing and truly perfect for the role, it's just I can't imagine it's the same person who've I've seen lately, who seemed very, I dunno different, (obviously she's older ...)
To be honest, I watched it for Cary, and he sure didn't dissapoint! He's great, he can be so funny and then do tragic dramas like this film right here..
I cried! the music is majorly responsible for that, and to be honest it wasn;t at Jane's beheading I couldn't control my eyes to flow, it's at the last minutes of Guilford walking out of the room, and the music, and how we hear how he was beheaded while Jane is just about to as well... Goodness, their love was so sweet though, that's why I cried, because they were just split apart and boom, dead, It was really nice to see Jane smile!! and you see her really act as a 16 yr old, it's sooo cute, Jane and Guilford, ...
maybe I cried because I didn't realize that no, it's not Cary dying ...If Cary was actually Guilford and I attended the beheading! holy *beep*
Gosh, I feel so....drained out, at the end of the film, I felt like crying again! I even skipped the end really, evillllllle Mary *shrugs shoulders*
The film is gorgeous no doubt, really makes you feel you were in the 16th century! And oh yes did I mention the music?
John Dudley! I recognized him!!! He's Sabrina's father in the 1995 version of Sabrina (with Julia Ormond and Harrison Ford) wow, many familiar faces such as Patrick Stewart ofcourse, and my goodness, sorry I have to mention again, Guilford is so hot! How can Jane not be content of marrying him! Ugh! (I know, dumb question, *rollseyes* :p)
I heard about the historical inaccuracies, but when you watch this simply pretend you know nothing about English history and enjoy the film as it is!
I agree with trulinotanother, I only watched this movie because Cary Elwes is in it. I think he is an awesome actor. He is always different in all his roles. Like one minute, he is a hansome farm boy in "the Princess Bride" and the next minute he is a women abducter in "Kiss the Girls".
I really enjoyed this movie. I think Helena did an awesome job as playing Lady Jane. She is revealed as being a young girl who is very intellegent and has a different look on life. Cary was great as being Guilford, I mean, the movie truely was very well done. And you see the Queen Mary as being really ignorant and an evil character.
I thought I was going to cry as well, it was so sad how at the end, Cary left the room where Helena and him were held in and she was hoping to see him again in the end after they were executed.
I also don't understand how Lady Jane could turn down Guilford, even though he spent most of his time in whore houses and drank alot, he still seemed better after they got married, and when they first kissed, I thought it was so cute.
Bravo!
Evil is a spiritual being, weaving it's way insidiously into the very fabric of life.
