i have always wondered abou this...

In the scene where Jane's mother, her governess, and ladies are getting her ready for bed and sending her into the bridal chamber to meet Guildford, Jane gears something outside and goes to the window. We see a couple embracing and kissing. In always wondered about the significance of this.
Was the couple placed there for Jane's benefit? A subtle way to prepare or encourage her or show her what to do?

I believe Jane spontaneously sees a young couple , truly in love and to Jane's eyes, this is what she is supposed to experience. Not the drunk husband ,at this point , that she doesn't care for.

Could be, though in real life Tudor wedding night were generally pretty rowdy affairs. Normally the bride's friends helped her undress and put her to bed, then the groom would be brought in by his friends, with a lot of jesting and horseplay etc, and once the couple were in bed together they would finally be left alone. They didn't go in much for subtlety.
