Must've sucked for Linda Hamiton

going from being in an instantly iconic masterpiece that everyone thought rocked two years previous (and was by 86 really taking off on vhs). To a sequel to the King Kong remake 10years ago with about a fifth of the budget..

How come she wasnt bagging any decent film roles after the fricking Terminator?! (like Biehn in 'Aliens' the same year as this junk and her role in Murder She Wrote!)

reply

5 years later T2 came out and redeemed her. I think most people don't even know this sequel exists

Wll the following year she started Beauty & The Beast which was a huge hit show and gave her more stardom as that character until she came back for T2

Looked up KKL and shocked to see its budget was quite decent for the time 18m the same as Aliens! (the '76 Kong had 24m budget) it actually made more than id have thought too (was obviously a flop in US making only 4m but was big in the Soviet Union taking 44m!)

Linda rules \m/

I don't care. I like this movie. Sure, it's not the best movie ever made but I find it fun.

reply

I heard she feels this was her best performance and her overall favorite movie she ever did

reply

Probably because once her and James Cameron divorced, she didn't have to work another day in her life from the $$$$ she probably got for that Divorce

, noticed three several scenes that mustve been influenced by Terminator, she's driving a pickup truck trying to evade soldiers - the pickup looks similar to end of Terminator. and theres a scene where she's dressing the male leads arm wound - very similar to how she did Reese (and later they sleep together),

Of course this movie was still bigger budget than The Terminator and neither of them were a quarter the budget of BIG films like Dune or Supergirl. She was still just Linda Hamilton, who starred in a surprisingly successful little film...
