Universal Studios Tour

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I could swear that Universal Studios put the King Kong part of their tour in along with the release of this movie; at least the one in California did, I remember it from when I was about 10 years old or so, which would seem to fit, timewise. Do I have my facts mixed up, anyone know?

Universal Hollywood's original Kong attraction opened around the time this film was released. There was some cross-promotion done as well as it was a big deal once the Kong part of the tour officially opened. Poor King Kong was one of the casualties of the Universal backlot fire in '09 I think.
