Well technically there was someone in distress, but this time it was a man. If you count the "Lady Kong's" infatuation with Hank Mitchell who, naturally like the fictional character (Anne Darrow), had blond hair.

It's interesting that Linda Hamilton played a fairly strong lead whereas the female monster was relegated to the traditional damsel role. He had to be rescued on multiple occasions and was even frightened of a snake that Kong tried to give her as a gift.
