I could swear on my grandmother's grave that I saw this movie in the theatre (and loved it) during the summer of 1985. I remember when "Top Gun" was released, I was thinking that it was trying to top IE (which it did of course).
Am I just crazy or does anyone else think this movie is actually a year older than they say?

nope you are not nuts, I don't really know about Iron Eagle running in the movie
theater as I was too young but I do know that it stats 1985 at the end of the movie. However, it does also state on the IMDB that it was released in the UK at that time. But it does seem rather far between being release in the UK verses the U.S. Released in end of 1985 I assume but then not release until Aug 1986, is a long wait.
Nope, not the summer of 85, but January of 86, to beat "Top Gun" to the theaters.
shareYeah, I think a lot of us--me included for the longest time--always seemed to remember Iron Eagle being a quick attempt to cash in on the success of Top Gun, but it did beat it to theaters by half a year.
