I remember Lou Gossett Jr saying they were behind on time, and the pilot then says "I got something that will help".. He starts playing his music and then Lou then says "wow, we already made up 8 minutes".
Like, what happened there? Anyone explain what they were doing.
How did playing his walkman make their jet go faster?
It was the Doug Masters Walkman - it has mystical powers. It can also turn you into an ace pilot depending on what kind of 80s rock music you're currently jamming to (regardless of your lack of experience). Rainey Haines' Old Enough to Rock n Roll was good enough to win you an air race, while Queen's One Vision took you up a level to a point where you were taking on an entire country's military. Listening to Dio also brought out your dark side when you wanna get revenge.
That Walkman was like the Force.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only person completed baffled by this. It wasn't just Masters jet, it was also Chappie's that apparently felt the effects of the Walkman music, as both had made up 8 minutes.
I would love to hear the director's commentary for this movie.
Its clearly the Dolby noise-reduction system. Cancels out any air resistance on the aircraft. Its all kept hush hush by the New World Order. I heard that down the pub 😉
