Goof! Will the Maverick fire from the ground?

Stupid question. Yes, it will. There is nothing in the F-16 that will prevent a weapon from launching on ground level. The Maverick will however, fall onto the ground directly under the wing, as the rocket will take a brief second to fire and propel the missile. Will the aircraft deploy the weapon? Yes. Will it work? No.

Arguing the level of reality as portrayed in an Iron Eagle movie is like playing basketball with a retarded kid and calling him for double dribble...........Ya got to let some **** slide.

Yeah that and the seemingly endless supply of ordnance on the F-16's as well as the usual incompetence of the enemy really negated Doug and Chappie's abilities.
