Cameo from famous Zombie movie actor........

Clickbait title but......

Captain Rhodes from Day of the Dead was at the first workers meeting. Shots of him standing up and pumping his fist.

Only a couple of shots and never saw him again.

I check the IMDB and Joseph Pilato is credited in Gung Ho.

Whatever you think about the portrayals of the Japanese, the US guys came off just as bad. I'd ignore people saying that it's wholly racist.

The US guys came off as lazy, slobbish and when gifted new jobs not willing to put in the necessary once they had them. Keaton promised the Japanese execs that his town would work hard. That didn't happen, they let him down. After the big welcome party most were jerks to the outsiders, and once they got settled into their jobs it was all half assed and they didn't want to learn if there was a more efficient way to improve on the skills they had.

Anyway, a great, well written, funny movie, the kind that people paid to go n see back in the day and be entertained for under 2 hours.

And great performances by every cast member, King Keaton as usual and Ron Howard for bringing it home.
