Michael Keaton
I was wondering how folks would rate Keaton's performance in this film against the rest of his career? I would rank it behind CLEAN AND SOBER, BATMAN, MR. MOM, and THE PAPER.
shareI would agree with you that Clean and Sober and Batman are his best acting performances along with Pacific Heights and One Good Cop, for comedy it is Gung Ho along with Mr. Mom and his first film Night Shift, also for laughs don't miss Johnny Dangerously, and Beetle Juice.

i would say this is the best, because this was a leading role, where night shift was a supporting role. in night shift he acted very similar, which was also directed by ron howard.
for example in night shift when he says 'alright, good..get your hair cut... get all your hairs cut!' when winkler is in the barber shop and he goes off on him. it's the same schtick as gung ho. in both films, keaton gets up in front of people and gives a speech. there's the prostitute speech in nightshift, which was hysterical, and he gave alot of speeches in gung ho in front of the town and the japanese.
anyways, keaton's performances in both are absolutely genius.
