George Wendt's Character Buster

Anyone else dislike Buster? He is just like the annoying fat guy at any job who mocks everything and thinks he is above the rules.

In the beginning, Buster was lazy and thought he was entitled, but in the end he turned out alright being a team player when they were going to the goal of 15,000 cars.

Buster was basically a unions worst nightmare. What some people in unions turn into after a while. Granted I think unions are a good thing for the worker, but some people use them as a crutch. What Buster did, just because he was in the union he could be lazy and a jerk just because he didn't get his way.

One thing about this movie that bugged is this town is so desperate for this Japanese company to come into town and from the beginning fight them on wages and positions. I mean really you would think that after 8-9 months of being out of work they would be happy with new company. Just bugged me. Also sad to think that in the movie’s timeline that this plant would be closed about 10 yrs later and all the jobs shipped to Mexico

Buster turned it around. Hunt tried to protect him but as usual with people like Buster you give them enough rope they'll hang themselves. Buster was lucky that Assan didn't fire him instead of busting him down to janitor. But he came around and that's a good thing.

Totally agree.

He was the antithesis of Norm Peterson on 'Cheers'!
