'You're not coming through...'

Does anybody else think this is the funniest line ever? Vincent Price delivers it PERFECTLY!

reply

It's a goodie. But Price plays every line to perfection.

According to an interview he gave shortly before his death, Mr. Price said that the voice of Professor Ratigan was his favorite, especially since he was given two musical numbers written especially for the role. The animators also kept notes on his exaggerated Shakespearian poses during the dialog recording and used them for his character. That's one of the reasons I love this film; Vincent Price in his scenery-chewing glory.

Much as I love that line, it pales in comparison to one of my most favorite parts, the heart attack. You can practically SEE Price voicing that scene... XD

reply

Okay, Basil trying to control his blood pressure (after he sits on his violin) is funny. Ratigan's near-coronary is hysterical!

I also love when Ratigan gets so mad he bangs his head off of a bottle, then holds his head with the pain.

You're not coming through.

Uh-oh.
Not a word you want to hear in this house.
Catch ya on the flip side.

reply

Oh, my god, yes!

"What?! Basil's on the case!" I'm laughing just picturing it.

Straightedge means I'm better than you.

reply

"Why you jibbering little!...." (coronary and face turning red) "Heh heh heh ohhh my dear Figit. You have been hanging upside down too long!"
