The orginal title was 'Jason Has Risen.'

I heard somewhere the reason that title was not used is because, Paramount felt it was distasteful. Did any of you know that?

I didn't know that, but im glad they didn't use it. 'Jason Lives' sounds much better :)

Actually, the original title was "Aladdin Sane." They used it to hide they where making another Friday film so it would be a surprise for Halloween.

But glad they went with LIVES though.

I knew of the title but not the reason for it not being used thanks for telling. I also know that the original title of part 8 was Terror In Times Square. It would be great to see a poster with the titles on.

No, I have never heard of that. Paramount has done the right thing. The original title is inappropriate because it sounds religious. The actual title suggests a horror movie.
