Any Good Memories from This Film?

I was around 11 when I was taken, to watch it. I had already seen 'Porky's' but, I was still surprised to see Nolte's butt. LOL

When I got home, I was telling my mother about the movie. Then, I got around to the 'butt scenes'. I did not say which actor and she just went crazy happy. She thought it was Dreyfuss and she was saying that she just HAD to see this movie. She went on and on about him. Well, she found out the truth, later.

Nothing against Nolte. She thought he did a great job. I guess Dreyfuss, was/is a dream guy. I've always found him dreamy.

You know it took years for me to figure out what Pena (and Gertz in 'Less Than Zero') were doing on top of those guys? LOL

Speaking of Dreyfuss, remember when he is having sex with his maid and we see the sweat on the side of his body? That must've driven your mother crazy. I loved the part where Dreyfuss finds out Nolte had sex with his daughter and chases him around the mansion during the party and they end up in the swimming pool and other people jump in and then the dog calls 911 and at one point a cigar is thrown away, lighting firerockets. And during all this, Little Richard is in his own world, playing the piano. It is such a build up of comedy.

I saw this on VHS when I was 14 or 15. What stuck out for me and what holds up is Little Richard's tirade about how he doesn't get the police protection that he, as a record producer deserves, because he's black. It's so funny.

Back in the day i loved the sex scence with the maid. And when i look back at it now its even better(funnier). When they are kissing and making out he tells her to call him dave. So she does until she is riding him on the bed and she sreams out Oh Oh Mr Whiteman. I loved the fact that she was the latino maid and his name was whiteman. You wouldnt get away with those stereo types nowadays in a mainstream movie.

Dreyfuss and nolte made the movie!!! Midler was a pain at times....dreyfuss's comedy was brilliant. i love noltes speech from hamlet on the jetty aswell.

This movie is just awesome. I remember sneaking in my basement when I was 6 years old to watch it because my family was outside doing chores and I wasn't supposed to watch it so I'd sneak down there so they wouldn't realize I was down there :). Back then when I first watched it I would say that my favorite scene is when Dreyfus and Nolte fall in the pool at the party. Now, 12 years later this movie is like 10 times funnier now that I understand more stuff about it I would say I have a tie for my favorite parts between Little Richards ranting about stuff not being fair and of course the pool scene. Oh and I loved Matisse (their dog)

For me, it was the theme song. The lyrics are quite fitting.

And also that although Dave was rich and comfortable, he was still quite a nice guy who cared about people somewhat.

I was 15 when this movie came out and remember loving the house and wanting rich parents like that. Barbara would have been a cool mom for a girl.
