The acting was better, except for Sally, she was being so stupid. But she did make a cool demon. The little kid's acting was bad too. But when he was a demon, oh my gosh, he was one of the freakiest or THE freakiest horror movie character I've ever seen.
with all due respect you're both fools, the first Demons was much better. The Black lady Demon from the first was also a better demon than any other I've seen before.
Man the first demons movie was way better and i just dont know how you can get the same actor from the first movie(bobby rhodes aka tony the pimp) to come back for the sequal after gettin killed off in the first then kill him off AGAIN, are we stupid?. If you look closely the girl in the car(asia argento) is actually the same chick from the vin diesel movie XXX, dont beleive me check it out its true ;].
WHAT i MEANT TO SAY BUT YOU FAILED TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT BITCH WAS THE MOST ANNOYING demon in demoni 2, she was a dumb *beep* demon who still seemed like she bitched about stuff even after she turned into a demon, you stupid *beep*
I agree with people who say the first Demons was way way better than this one. It is actually pretty awesome. Demons 2 just has too many cheesey effects (the baby demon, which i still don't understand, was kinda funny, but the dog demon was so terrible) and it doesn't live up to the first one by far.
But yeah, I really wish they would have taken off where the first one left off. The re-hash of the first Demons is kind of lame. But they probably didn't have the budget to make some huge demon movie that takes place out in the city so they had to size it down a bit and contain it in another building.
I'm sorry, but I think you were expecting something different from the Dog demon effect. I really think this effect was supposed to be more surprising or realistic or shocking than cool, by the standards that people loved the first films' effects. I was shocked! It looked very realistic, especially the way the eye moved like it was actually real. A lot of attention to detail in that scene. You must not own a dog!

I'm not sure which one I like best actually. They've both got good bits about them. I like the elevator and car park scenes in the 2nd one, but the first one was more frightening and had a darker feel too it, which I liked.
FUNNY AS HELL HAHAHAHAH. Black dude told the guy to read the instruction on how to use the fire extinguisher and the guy TRIED to read it and he sounds hilarious...lol
I love both movies equally. I especially like this film's color scheme of blue. It's a great contrast to the original's pink neon lighting.
But I have to admit, I really much preferred the soundtrack in Demons 2. I liked the moody goth/rock, early alternative and new-wave acts in this one more than the cheesy hair metal in the first one.
The music in the first one fit, no doubt. I'm just saying I like the bands they used in this one: The Cult, The Smiths, Gene Loves Jezebel, Dead Can Dance and Peter Murphy. When I think of 80's rock, those are the bands that come to my mind.
Thank you! I completely agree. The first film was pretty decent stylistically (though I didn't notice anything especially pink, I'll bet you're right - but what I usually notice the most in that film is yellow and sea-blue).
And great comment about the music. I really liked both films, certainly the original's use of Billy Idol's "White Wedding" was inspired. But this film OWNED The Cult's "Rain", excellent use of that one. It's just great that these films used real popular songs, I've already downloaded 2 of them from Napster. The music itself though, did signal a real shift in feel / tones.

I agree with th OP. I thought the first one was awful and a big disappointment. This one is an improvement but still unwatchable in parts; the ghoulie chasing the lady in her apartment, the demon dog.
The first one was much more gory, dark, violent and claustrophobpic. This one seems like a a made for TV movie. But with a hottie like David Edwin Knight as the lead, Im not complaining. --- Enough Lucy Marathons on TV Land. Damn!
I have to agree with this statement. I found the movie to be annoying. There was a huge chunk of the movie with just the demons going ‘rar rarr’ and other characters screaming. Little to no dialogue. The effects were good, but the unabated snarling, roaring and screaming made it unwatchable for me. The original was much better in my opinion. I would go as far as discouraging others from watching this.
