After the demons kill everyone in the parking lot, they go to Ingrid who locked herself in a car.But they just leave and don't kill her. By the look on Sally's face and when she screams,it almost seemed like she told them to leave her alone. Perhaps Ingrid and Sally had a friendship and Sally, though already a demon, had some memory of her old life. I wonder if Ingrid survived...
I think it's safe to say Ingrid died. I mean she locked herself in a car but what about the people the demons had just killed. Wouldn't they wake up and start murdering people? I guess she died since the dead would become demons and the locked car would not be a shelter against the army of demons.
i think it is a pretty big bet that Ingrid did not get away, maybe Sally saw it was Dario's daughter and did a runner..??? maybe Dario felt too guilty to see his daughter slaughtered when she was only about 11 when it was made (i think), although he didnt seem to bothered about the poor young lad...
I guess it's all suggestive, you don't see Ingrid getting killed, it's just presumed or not presumed. You don't see the young boy (Tommy I think) getting killed either, you just see him with that demonic blood dropping on him.
i have often wondered that myself why the demons didnt kill ingrid. . . i dunno maybe im crazy but when sally screams and they run off theres something to that. . . i dunno what it is but there is something and another good point is that the other demons would soon wake up and prolly kill her. . . thats happened before where a a demon spares the life coz they know they will b turned eventually. . . even when the little boy is hiding - the demon prolly knew he was hiding. . . still the 1st one much better - but not a bad sequel none the less
That's an easy one. You see - demons here are ultimately evil, meaning they will act so as to cause maximum torture - for a young girl to stay alone in a world, infested with demons before they tear her apart is that worst evil really, which is why they choose to leave her alone. It isn't a "practical" kind of movie with serious combat planning etc...
You guys have nothin better to do than write silly posts like this one? Oh, c'mon, we can't debate on a *beep* little particular like Ingrid's death. Btw, I hope demons killed her: I HATE Asia Argento, everybody hates her, here in Italy. And I'm sure you too would hate her if you were italians. She's a bad actress, she speaks cheasy, she has a vulgar speach. I think she's better when speaking english. She has a good spoken english I think (she lives in California, afterall). But honestly, I hate her!! Fiore is a very sweet woman, tender, has a wonderful sad-lookin' face, beautiful eyes (like her name, which means "Flower"). But Asia...OMG: why you american people go crazy for her????
We're talking about the character that she played when she was just a little girl. The American's go crazy for her because she's hot, I guess? I don't pay much attention to her.
Ah-ha: you're one of the few american guyz who just don't!! Cool! She's hot? Oh c'mon...you've Jenna Jameson and Belladonna, they're way toooo hot!:)
Asia Argento is hated by me and by million of italian people. (and, of course, I just don't care if we're talkin' about her role in this fleek: she's totally hateful, even as a baby!).
Because of her speech, mainly. She uses to dub her characters for the italian version. Now, since she strongly speak with a roman slang (because of course Rome it's actually the place where she grew up) the effect obtained is just....awful.
I mean, maybe it's hard to ecplain but....I agree that Asia is a beautiful woman, but hearing her speaking with that scum slang it's disturbing.
Plus, she's hated because she's more often devoted to glamour, gossip and night life instead of acting. She's hated because she thinks she's an intellectual actress (while she's not at all). She married Morgan (singer for italian post-punk band Bluvertigo) and rapidly devourced after few months and a baby. Many think that she made this marriage just to promote her image of rebel-like cursed-like new-century vamp.
She says she's for workers' rights, she is for marxist-leninist ideals, but she actually owns several disco clubs in North Italy from whom she earns tons of bucks everyday and...if she's so anti-capitalist, XXth century Russia-oriented person, why does she live in US of A? (without any offensive mean for your country, that I love).
I think the main reason why the demons didn't hurt Ingrid was because she saw them violently kill her father and when she called for him after he died she got their attention. They could have killed Ingrid like all the other people in the garage carpark but i feel in a way they felt some kind of sympathy for her. Although i feel that she would have died later on, most of the other people that were killed in the garage would have turned into demons and attacked her, or the cars which were on fire could have blown up plus it would have been pretty much impossible for her to escape the building in the same way that George and Hannah did.
The movie already has a lot of scenes that defied logic and this scene is not an exception. I mean Zombies are brainless bunch of idiots that know only to harm humans then how Sally and co can feel sorry for Ingrid.
These're not zombies, dear cryijay89, these are Demons! We may consider Demons as the italian version of Romero's zombies. But they're more dangerous than zombies. They're faster, stronger - and, in some cases, smarter - than humans. If zombies kill by biting a victim, demons rip bodies apart with fangs and fingernails. They use several ways to kill a human. The most elaborted are in chapter #1 (Demons) (e.g. a man hanged to the balcony, a girl with her head slammed under a chair, an other victim scalped alive, a blind man eye-gouged and so on). In this movie, they meanly use bites and scratches.
I personally disagree with the guy who said demons felt "sorry" for Ingrid's fate and didn't kill her. I think demons breaked into the car and slayined poor Ingrid/Asia Argento's body. Mr.Bava decided not to show this scene.
Just remember that Demons 2 was green-lighted for Tv airings, so the screenwriters adopted a "soft" approach to gore (and/or conceptual disturbing scenes) in order to prevent the italian commercial channels to dump it. Actually, Demons 2 normally airs on commercial channels, while Demons 1 doesn't (the first one is gory and violent).
Hi dariosoldatini in response to your comment i meant that the demons probably felt some sort of sympathy for ingrid as they had just killed her father and she is the only child there, it is just a theory really. It is Sally who leads the demons and she obviously informs them when to leave the car park. I would also go as far as to say that the final decision could have been down to her. You say yourself about how intelligent they demons are and therefore and i think that because of this could be selective in regards to their victims, however i do agree that her death scene could have been off screen but as nothing was shown we will never know!
Ah ah ah, you guys sure have a wonderful sense of humour, but pls remember that, as for the first chapter, there's no much room for logic in this movie. Not seeing Ingrid turned into a demon and running along with the bunch of monsters for the rest of the film doesn't mean that she's alive. If you pay attention, in many "mass" scenes, where the horde of demons breaks loose, there're several never before seen faces (Oh uhm...faces with make-up). Who are they? They sure are former inhabitants of the skyscraper, but it seems to me that they were P.A.'s and crewmen who were just throw in to make number. Apart from that, this's still a fun movie to watch, even though I'm a die hard fan of the original.
PS: besides Asia's character, others seem to have disappeared (i.e. the male and female gymnasts. I don't remember them running around as demons).
The garage was surrounded by fire. That's why the demons left. I'm pretty sure Ingrid died in the car. Other wise they would have shown her at the end.
Well all the demons leave her alone there and than die when they try to go up the stairs in where the couple make that explosion.Only Sally is left among the demons so since Sally died in the other building there's nothing left to kill the girl in that building as all the demons are dead.
I just assume she is still in that car as the demons would have just broken the glass like everyone else.
I'm glad she wasn't killed. Asia is a fine actress and this was one of her first roles.
I don't see why people would hate her. She's talented and a very interesting woman.
I love her, she's great in giallo movies.
