So they end up in some room with cameras and video production technology and then later on the Sally demon attempts to manipulate it somehow.
Was that place the source of the demon's power? Was that broadcasting that Demons TV show from which the demon came out of to infect Sally?

I think it was just hearkening back to the original film where they break into the projection booth and realize the film has been set up to run by itself by someone or something mysterious. It was basically Demons 2's version of the characters stumbling upon the "source" of the evil, which can't be coincidental given each time the trouble starts with film in some form. Most likely the film has power and whoever or whatever set it up spurred things into motion in both films. It would have been to discover the mysterious origins of the films and who would use their power to infect the public like that, but alas it a plot device meant to be mysterious.

shareI don't know. Some have said that it has nothing to do with the films but with the locations these events took place at. That one blind guy in the first movie kept going on about how it wasn't the movie that was causing it, it was the place itself.
They still used a little of the story in The Church, which was supposed to be part 3 and it would have revealed the origins. They changed stuff but that movie had witches being executed and then buried. Holy seals and churches were placed on top to prevent their demonic spirits from being released.
I think the original story was supposed to reveal that the places from 1 and 2 were cursed. possibly the seals keeping the demons inside were broken. The demons used the theater and the tv studio to make their way into our reality. What was being seen on the tv was what was to become of that building they live in. It was showing the future. The large claw found within the movie belonged to the baby demon. It had one of it's claws cut.
Also if you look at the outside of the theater it resembles a church. Plus there were those hidden areas inside as well. don't know what the apartment complex in part 2 could have been.
I thought it was going to be something similar to the big broadcast in Halloween III: Season of the Witch. Everyone watching television in the entire country starts to get possessed.
