Is proof to me that they knew they had a turd of a movie on their hands. They totally made no mention of any gay robot or girl friend resurrections. The trailer actually looks like a great movie because they totally deliberately failed to mention any of the worst parts of the plot.
I have a place in my heart for Deadly Friend but I won't lie to myself...this is not a good movie in any way.
It's good in parts, read the book and you'll understand why the robot is an integral part of the story.

I read screams and nigthmares: the films of Wes Craven. I have a better understanding what happened to this film. I still really like this film even with the flaws.
I really liked the music used in the trailer. I agree about reading the book Friend by Diane Henstell. it seems the robot idea translated better in the book then in the film for those who thought the robot was too cute for a horror film.
