I thought this was Short Circuit

Imagine my surprise. This is one of those things that I've mistaken for years (like thinking Sean Penn was the actor who played Bill in the Bill & Ted movies).

I remember this movie from my childhood when it played on TV. But the only scene I remember clearly was when the robot comes out of the girl. Years later, I am seeing that Short Circuit is the only robot movie form the 80s that is constantly referenced (and the robots looked the same). And I know Short Circuit is a comedy (just never remembered that this was a horror movie), so I always thought the image I remember was a scene from Short Circuit.

Now several years later, I come to find out it's a horror movie about a killer robot. And I can't believe I'm like the only one who can't remember this movie for the basketball scene. Now it's on my Netflix queue.
