According to Moviehole, Warners are working on a script for a 3D remake..

I hope they improve upon the original and make it a modern day Frankenstein story as opposed to just a run of the mill slasher film.

The original has its faults, but the first act plays out very well indeed, the last act isn't so bad either. Craven's original cut didn't have any of those ridiculous murder sequences. Not long before Warners finally release the directors cut.......
