Is this a classic horror film?

I'm not sure if this is considered cult, classic or off people's radar in general. Most people I mention it too require a fair amount of prompting to get them to remember.

i always thought of it as more of a science fiction. it’s not really scary.

Sort of kids horror, but I suppose your right, in that it didn't really scare me as a kid. It's like Gremlins in that regard, so I'd call it light horror.

yes it’s like a family horror. a scifi horror. it’s definitely a classic.
