Good Character but Bad story

The cobra character was great and had untapped potential but the story was weak and even though Brian Thompson as a villian had potential, the execution was poor
The other cops characters were ridiculous

I would love to see Stallone revisit this character

Yeah, Cobra isn't perfect....but it's a lot of fun. And the character is very cool in my opinion. One of the best Stallone characters. Great Friday night movie with a couple of beers

Actually, the fact that he takes on a murderous cult is part of the movie's unique charm for me.

The story might suck because Stallone apparently was so confident of this movie being a hit that he cut out some 20-30 mins of the film ...
I'd like to have seen a 110 minute version of the film, rather than an 85 minute version. Chopping that much out of a virtually completed film wasn't the greatest idea IMO.🐭

Hmmmm, funny, I have the exact opposite opinion. Now don't get wrong, Stallone in the poster looked cool, but that's the problem, it wasn't enough to just give off the cool vibe naturally, this was during that time where Stallone was obviously full of himself and he had tell ya over and over how cool he was.

Everything about the Cobra character was so in your face and trying to scream at you "Hey look how awesome I am", a character should just "have it", they don't need to walk around with matchsticks in their mouth, they don't have to cut their pizza with scissors, they don't need cheesy custom license plates (that car was AWSOM enough on it's own).

I really can't believe you knocked Brian Thompson as I feel that was one of the greatest villains ever and he was perfect in it, he freaked me out as a kid. It's just a shame Sly didn't do this a few years earlier when he was more in his "struggling to make it" days.

When I was first half-way through watching this film, I too thought it had a bad story.

But then I became amazed at how poignant the story was when the evil villains revealed themselves to be darwinists who are acting out their darwinist agenda. That turned this story into a masterpiece.

Cobra stands alone as possibly the only action film ever made which exposes darwinists truly, as the evil, murderous scumbags that they are.

For those reasons, Cobra's story is worth a 10/10.
