Wasn't there supposed to be a 6th book?

There's 5 books so far but isn't she supposed to write a 6th one that's supposed to be the last one? I wonder when it will come out? I hope she doesn't wait 10 years like she did between 4 & 5, that would be exasperating!

Xeno, that's a horrible thing to say. Accurate, maybe, but horrible nonetheless.
The question is how do you think she'll go?

The 5th and 6th books were written together.. so it should be out within a year or two I believe. And there is talk of a seventh book after that.

As for Ayla dying.. I doubt it because at the end of the 5th Ayla agreed to get training from the Zeladoni. I think before the end of the series Ayla will find Durc and see him once more. I hope so at least.

There was originaly only supposed to be six books. Then when book 5 came out it was changed to 7 books. Book 5 came out 4 years ago so we probably have another 6 six years for book 6.

Book one,excellent
Book two good
Book three tedious
Book four tedious and getting worse
Book five just started hope it improves
Why does Ayla have to invent EVERYTHING she even invented a frickin Bra!
Try to imagine the end of eternity

i hope she does die, that girl is getting on my nerves with her perfectness and exotic beauty and her oh jondalar blah blah blah, and how she manages to invent every little thing to absolutly everything, i mean for crying loud it's insane!

I loved the first book and it should have ended there, but nooooo we needed to read about a sexaholic and his unfullfilled enormous prostate and his gifts with women, I swear some parts of the second book just made me laugh out in tears at this charater. Then the thrid is about him and his insecurities, not wanting to share and whinning like a baby when he didn't get what he wanted, and ayla playing the innocent role and not understanding why her sleeping with another man was such a big deal....COME ON! Then we get to the fourth where it's just more sex sex sex sex, then jondalar gets captured and guess what he is asked to do by the female leader who captured him.... you need a clue? Of course the perfect exotic ayla appears out of no where and rescues his sorry butt, only to almost die but is saved not by jon but by her wolf... what a pussy he is held down by women....he couldnt over power them....suuuure, this 6 foot masculine thick boned man couldn't over power short women with pointy sticks....then they get to the end of the book and we find his half sister had sexual fantasies and running away dreams about him and is disapointed to find him with someone else.....sick! Of cource there are sex scenes in between, a rape victum who finally comes out of her tramatized shell only to lust and want jondalar because she locked eyes wth him and now is envious of ayla and there is dancing but I'm going to skip that the end result is sex, naturally ayla gets pregnant and Jon is over joyed.

Finally the fith....long story short everyone wants and lusts over the perfect ayla and her exotic shaped body blah blah blah, some are jelious both men and women of her, she gets married half naked infront of hundreds jon is glowing with pride and all are lusting over her again at the ceremony and are planning for something to happen to jon in a " ima get you good just you wait" just so they can get ayla, more sex and more sex then her girl is born, and even more sex....then ayla confesses she may have mind reading abilities and tells jon then she has a conversation with zelona and decides to be a zelendoni and goes to tell Jon thats it!

Is anybody else feeling that Clan of the Cave bear was her best work and the others were just too much, that she was dragging the story to long and now it's flopped?

She is the stra, and I hope she does not die, i love her will power, and am glad she has someone like jondalar who would die for her...We should all be more like them...It must have been quite a time back then..BTW, just because she invented something, does not mean a 1000 other people invented the same thing..Great minds think alike.....Im sure lots of things were invented, forgotten, and invented again..the was no patent office back then...Plus if you had to live like they did, you might struggle to come up with new ideas..We are fat and lazy now days, we sit in our nice cool AC, and want for nothing...How many of us would die, if we were thrown out in the woods, and left there with nothing???? Alot I bet, hell some our fat asses would have heart attacks just being out in the heat..We have ALL become so lame , and weak now.............

No problem with the half sister....Damn so you want to kill someone because his sister likes him..
Wow.....Well I hope nothing bad happens to them...It is really a great love story, and I have never liked that kind of stuff before....BTW, what is wrong with being a sexaholic???? sounds like someone aint getting any......Hahahahahah....little sour grapes there maybe.......Lucky for most of us the writer does not feel the way you do, but you could always write your own little story...Bet it would not be very good tho....Take it how ever ya want, cuz I bet ya aint getting it...Hahahahahahaahahah

Ehh, I thought it kind of jumped the shark after book 1. I actually liked that, then grew tired of Perfect Ayla and Whiny Jondalar. Not to mention it got much, much too sexual. By the end it was pretty much prehistoric porn.

I've read this from a number of posters about Book Five (Shelters of Stone), but I've purchased the audio-tape of said book, and at the same time that I'm listening to said story, I'm also reading the book as well, and so find a lot of details that I missed in my quick first reading. I'm enjoying it so much that I'd like to try the same thing with the other books in the series, as well as Harry Potter, and perhaps others. I'm at the point in the book/tape just after the Rhino Hunt.

And I've got to say, clean out your minds people. To the best of my memory, the sex scenes only occur once every three or four chapters, if that, which means that in the whole book of some forty chapters, there should be only around ten sex scenes, but there are maybe half that. And let us not forget that the main charaters (Ayla and Jondalar) are both very much in love, and both are horny teenagers. Of course they are going to jump each others bones as often as they can. Prehistoric Porn, as more then one poster calls it? Maybe you should read some REAL porn, where sex scenes occur once, twice, and even three times per chapter; and usually what happens between sex scenes is getting ready for the next sex scene. This is real life, not pornography.
