The poster scared the crap out of me when I was a kid

Something about the title, in addition to the poster of bloody body parts in a shopping bag just scared the crap out of me. I saw the movie last night was surprised to find that there was very little "chopping" going on. Aside from the head explosion (which I didn't even get to see until the end credits because I tuned in late), all the deaths were pretty lame. I guess I shouldn't have been so afraid, huh?

lol yea, but i guess that what makes it so great

"You are what you choose to be...choose"

It's true, there is just SOMETHING about the poster that perfectly taps into the morbid subconscious fascinations of children. My (largely poster-centric) appreciation:

I knew the movie would be cool the minute I saw the video box for the first time back in the 80s. No the level of gore in the film doesn't measure up to what the box/poster suggested, but that exact game of bait-and-switch was often what 80s video horror cheeze was all about.

I've never been scared by the movie, just entertained. It has some pretty
good kills and I like the shopping outlet being used here as the backdrop the
set the film against.
