Army of Darkness had to have ripped the line off from here!

Klaatu Barada Nikto/Clatto Verata Nicto said by Bruce Campbell looking (and acting) guy? Coincidence? No f-ing way. When I saw the guy for the first time, the first thing that went through my head was how much he looks like a cross between Bruce and that Deathstalker II guy. And then he says the line and my mind is f-ing blown!
This can not be a coincidence. The Evil Dead guys had to have taken the line from here. We all now the Evil Dead crew loves B horror movies and this was perfect for picking.
This line, when used here, makes perfect sense! The characters were watching B&W SF movies and when a robot starts to harass the "Bruce clone" guy, he jokingly says the words which were used in the B&W SF classic The Day the Earth Stood Still (TDTESS) to stop the giant robot!
However, in Army of Darkness it makes no sense what so ever to use the words from TDTESS, but it kinda makes sense to use the best line the Bruce clone has in this movie as a tribute to the movie and the fact that there's a Bruce Campbell clone in it.
Just a theory but I think it sticks pretty well no matter what Raimi claims.

As a side note, the scene where they arm themselves to the teeth is reminiscent of Bruce's look with a shotgun and in the Army of Darkness mall.

The Klaatu line originates from THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL.
It's a reference.

I know. I wrote that too. Yes, both movies are probably referencing the classic and not eachother, but it's a really funny coincidence that "a Bruce" is saying it in both movies. Oh, and "this" Bruce IS the Deathstalker II (1987) guy, my bad.

My mistake for not reading the rest of your original post.

Bruce was a popular name in the 80s.
