I hate nostalgia and I hate this film as every time I remember this film I remember when I started to cry at the end alongside The Land Before Time. This escapist film just manipulates children and hurt me so much.

Well, I don't see where you're getting at with emotional manipulation at all. I first saw this movie at age six, and has left an impression on me ever since. Nostalgia most of the time I think is good, especially if it keeps "the child within all of us" alive. Otherwise, everything could and should be made disposable and forgotten, which I don't agree with AT ALL. This is one of the harshest, and yes, dumbest posts I have come across on this board.
There is nothing wrong with "emotional manipulation", as long as it's pure and heartfelt. Manipulating people by way of political propaganda is what you should be worried about! This film is a sweet fairytale that both adults and children can enjoy and I think it perfectly balances the subtle nuances of each character with the occasional cloying sentimentality inherently present in these kind of fimls. Nostalgia is great and is one of the best ways to overcome depression!

Completely agreed, Synergy. Maybe the reason the first poster posted that was because the movie moved her so much and made her so sad that she resented it. She evidently doesn't appreciate nostalgic movies, either. I, on the other hand, loved the movie.
