Why didn't he take Milly with Him?
They were obviously in love, and he took off. Where was he going? His secret was out of the closet by then. He could have stayed in town.

shareMy guess is he didn't want to take Milly with him because he didn't want to take her away from her family. I would think Milly's Mom and brother wouldn't like that very much. LOL! :0)
As for where he was going, I don't think anyone knows. The movie never even hinted at where he went. I learned that for awhile there was a sequel to "The Boy Who Could Fly" that was discussed, but it was never made. I can't help but wonder if it HAD been made if Eric would've come back, or would've been found or if he'd be in the movie at all.
But like Milly was talking about in the end of the movie, the doctors and scientists were doing all kinds of tests on Milly and Eric's Uncle Hugo. And they also put everything in Eric's room in a laboratory too I think. Anyway, Milly said she thinks Eric would have had the same thing done to him if he had stayed. He would've never been left alone now that everyone knew about his ability to fly. And it wouldn't have been much of a life with everyone after him and trying to find out how he can fly. At least that's my take on it.
Still I'd just love to have a chat with Nick Castle, the man who wrote and directed the movie. I'm curious to where he thinks Eric went. :0)
