Paul's Body

I've seen this movie a couple of times, and can't figure out why she didn't want to see Paul's body. Or, plan and attend his funeral. it just shows her sitting there crying about how he had died the night before in his sleep. Don't you think she'd want to be extremely sure he was dead?

good point. the movie tries to rush the conclusion too much. it is like the wedding/funeral takes place in a 24 hour period.

This is related to what you're saying about the speed of events at the end of the movie --

The issues which come up regarding their will and the Cancer Foundation would likely take some time to occur. It takes days to get a death certificate alone. To have a representative from the Cancer Foundation made aware of Paul's death, and the issues surrounding his residency in Florida, and then flown out to Hawaii to discuss with his widow would be something that would happen at least a month after death if that soon.

What I want to know is: why was she actually trapped in the end? When Paul shows up alive, why couldn't she have just said "Paul my darling oh I'm so glad you're not dead!!" and given him a big hug? Why did him showing up actually nail her for the crimes?

There were two poisoned bottles. One the black widow planted in the agent's room to frame her and one at Paul's to kill him. Remember, Debra Winger's character said "we searched Paul's place and found the brandy bottle before he got to it."

"I hope she didn't take my attempt to destroy her too seriously."
