Exposition dialogue and gang wars.

I've loved this movie since the 80's. The exposition dialogue is awful, but the rest is too much fun. The sets, special effects, characters, and story are exactly what you'd see in a comic. John Carpenter nailed this film... even if the box office didn't agree.

It was a 1986 film. That was an awesome year for movies.

I tried to get my wife to watch it. She usually likes anything I throw at her in the way of cult films. She Is a film connoisseur regarding the classics, watched many a film from Coppola, Scorsese to Lynch.

As soon as she got to the exposition parts were they regrouped she didnt want to watch anymore. She checked out, nothing before impressed her.

Its like 2 minutes of exposition and thats it, and after the ninjas flying out of the sky holding onto lightening.

I may look for a divorce soon.

Can I marry one of you guys so we can sit and watch it over and over?

You mean the constant explaining? I didnt mind that. heavy handed sure , but a good way to get the whole Chinese culture and history across in a few spoonfuls.
