Nice boots, Jack

I think we both know you didn't buy them in the men's section.

Actually yes, they are indeed men's boots :)

No, he didn't. Pretty sure those were Bald Mountain Moccasins he was wearing, which were custom hand made. Back in the late 80s, a pair like that would run you about 700$

I was doing Ren-fests back in the late 80s, and those things were the mark of a serious Rennie. They weren't cheap, they were durable (hand made from Bison leather with Vibram and conveyor belt soles, and looked cool.

They closed their doors back in the mid 90s, and aren't around anymore, but other custom boot makers are.

And you can Google Bald Mountain and get an idea of what they made.

I was going to say Bald Mountain moccasins, remember seeing them at Ren Faires all the time, very expensive. Wasn't aware they'd gone out of business. I know the silver 'buttons' along the sides were made from polished silver quarters or pesos depending on the boot.

In the DVD commentary, Kurt says those were his own pair of moccasins that he'd bought in Aspen, I think, and that just a few years before they recorded this commentary, he'd taken his oldest son to get his own pair made.
