Jackie Chan is in this! (uncredited it seems)

In the alley fight scene, he is one of the 'good guys' wearing the brown potato sack vest and a yellow headband throwing up the 'L'. Check for yourself!

He can also be seen towards the end when they go back in to confront Lo Pan.

I looked in the credits and cast but couldnt find anything......but its definitely him!

The reason you couldn't find anything is because Jackie Chan wasn't in Big Trouble In Little China.

This made me chuckle. So dry, so right!

You make me laugh, if Matrix were here, he'd laugh too

reply

He was already a huge international star years before this was filmed. He wouldn't be doing uncredited work as an extra...

reply

i think he was giving the L sign for the people who think he looks like Jackie Chan

joking of course, but its not him by a long shot

I'm a big Jackie Chan fan and I also think it was him in the alley fight, not just by looks ( the nose!) but also by the fighting style. He may have done it for a lark, big star or no, just for fun and to be in a movie with so much martial arts silliness. I wonder if anyone's ever directly asked him or John Carpenter about this...

@mvksmall
No offense, if you were a big Jackie Chan fan, you would know he isnt in this.
Itd be awesome if he was though.

reply

You're not much of a Jackie Chan fan if you think he was in this.

@dertydata I can see two guys who kinda sorta look like Jackie Chan. This young guy:

And this guy:

But neither of them are him.

I assume they're referring to the young guy, and that is definitely not JC.

Here is the guy: George Cheung http://movies.stackexchange.com/questions/11640/was-jackie-chan-in-big -trouble-in-little-china.

Funny thing is that he has worked on a Jackie Chan movie (Rush Hour).

If Jackie Chan had anything at all to do with this movie, John Carpenter or Kurt Russell most definitely would have mentioned it in the DVD commentary.

To see the only real monster, one must only look in the mirror.

The official James Hong FB page posted a article on 11 fun facts of Big Trouble in Little China and it says Carpenter wanted Jackie Chan to play Wang Chi however his English was really poor that he couldn't play the role however Jackie Chan was used during the ally street fight.
