Green-eyed, northeast Asian women do exist!

When BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA appeared, I shrugged off the green-eyed, minor character of Miao Yin as just so much science fiction. She was rarely shown in the movie anyway. Like everyone else, who would believe a 100% northeast Asian woman could have green eyes? Maybe a Eurasian woman, but that's it.

It wasn't until three years ago when I began surfing YouTube that I watched a couple of videos filmed of the Central Asian cultures that lo and behold, wow! Green-eyed, black-haired, high cheekboned Asian women do exist! See for yourself. I watched several videos showing Central Asian women doing traditional dancing. Some of those women look like Chinese or Japanese women wearing green contact lenses but they're not. The admixture of a Northeast Asian woman with startling green eyes is visually astonishing and compelling.

Why haven't some of these women shown up in the rest of the world as emigrants or expatriates? Just look at a map or a globe. Central Asia is buried so deeply in the middle of the continent that it surrounded by dominant powers, the former Soviet Union, Iran, China; geographical features like the Himalayas, and the fact that the Central Asian peoples were and still are very insular, does explain why so few of those people disseminated to the outside world.

There you go. Lo-Pan should've just used Youtube to find his bride. Or Craig's List. Would've made his search much easier. What a dummy.

You are sin.

reply

Except those didn't exist back then. You had to do it the hard way...newspaper ads and the yellow pages.

reply

Sure they exist! Even Lopan acknowledges it: "There have been others, to be sure. There are always others. But you know, Mr. Burton, the difficulties between men and women. How seldom it works out?"

The bigger problem is, she also has to survive the test.

reply

yeah I dont think it mattered what nationality the girl was as long as she had green eyes an could survive the burning blade

Channel Six News, they'll finger anything with a pulse!

I once met an Asian woman with green eyes. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to ask her about it.

People in Asian countries sometimes have blue, green, or even purple eyes. It's not impossible, but it does happen. Those genes had to come from somewhere, after all.
