I know Drew Barrymore had a drug problem when she was a kid. I think by now everyone knows this. But I wondered if she was using drugs during this movie. She didn't seem like she was out of it or anything, but I wondered if she was using pot then. Sometimes I've heard people can be stoned on pot and act totally normal.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was using at this time. I remember Drew on the Joan Rivers show when she promoting the movie, and anyone could have seen that she was stoned during the interview. I wish it was on Youtube...

its like Amazing how she can be this 10 or 11 year old, filming a MOVIE , just a little girl, so sweet looking and do drugs. where would she find where to get them.

I doubt Drew had to look very hard for drugs at that time, they were all around her.
Drew wrote about this period in her life in her autobiography "Little Girl Lost". She was, what, 11 or so when filming this? By that time she was a regular at night clubs (courtesy of her mom) and was already smoking and drinking. By 13 she'd have done mj, coke, and a stint in rehab. This was a bad period for her, but she managed to set her life straight later.
Drugs are great when you're only ten.

I believe it was during filming this movie that she was spending her nights off from work partying (at least heavily drinking) with Rod Stewart and his band in their hotel room, both happened to be in germany and staying at the same hotel. I think she was into pot by then, but not the cocaine yet. It says in her autobiography, Little Girl Lost, but it's been a long time since I've read it.
shareYup, Drew was definitely into pot and alcohol by this time. I haven't read her book in awhile, but I remember it said that there was a local band that she partied with every night and they provided drugs and alcohol for her because they were out shooting the film and not home where the clubs were available.
It's ironic, really, because the film is about growing up too fast.
