I found it on the internet but it's just like the orignal version just without any words. I'm looking for the version at the beginning of the movie, when Sean Penn is driving and they are showing credits, real slow and keyboardish version real cool!
shareI have been looking for this version for the longest time too
shareI found it on Limewire, I like both versions. Great 80's ballad. The composer behind the music is Patrick Leonard.
shareSo, is there any way to download it online? (I love that song too)
shareyeah the song was different at the beginning, it was use for the intro only if i remember correct!
shareIf they would create a "score" to this film, the song as you describe would be included. Unfortunately the score does not exist (so far as I have seen). Film scores are the background music you hear, typically without lyrics. This is, of course, different than the "soundtrack" which includes the popular tunes with words played throughout the film.
shareHey Paul? My name is Charlz and I feel the same way about that song...I've actually wanted a copy of the instrumental to "Live to tell" since i first heard it...My email is [email protected]...If possible, can you send something to me to help me get it...It would be appreciated!
shareME TOOOOOOOOOOOO !!
shareI just watched this film tonight and I've got to say, I used to love the song 'Live to Tell' by Madonna, but this film just burned me sick of it - it's the ONLY song that plays througout the whole film (plus variations on a theme of 'Live to Tell') This movie is second only to one other film which has burned a song to death and that is 'The Story of Us' with Eric Clapton's 'I Get Lost'.
shareLive To Tell is one of the greatest ballads ever.
shareI agree completely! I LOVE this song as well. It's become my favorite song by any artist period. I can relate to it on so many levels as a gay man and besides that as a person in general. The song in my humble opinion describes the challenges of life and the fear of letting go of a secret, which could be and probably is different for everybody. Just the lyrics, "I have a tale to tell, sometimes it gets so hard to hide it well", say so much in and of themselves. It's as if someone is reflecting on their life and stating their regrets and hopes all at the same time even without saying it. I know I'm probably thinking to much, but this song has meant the world to me for the past 8 years or so since I first saw the movie "At Close Range" one night on tv. I have yet been able to find the film on dvd, but will buy it as soon as I do. I own both the True Blue and Live To Tell singles which have the instrumental version and am glad that I do since these items are now hard to find. I like both versions, the instrumental and the song with lyrics. While, it is a rather long song at 5:53, it is a great song and arguably Madonna's best ballad or even her best song EVER. While she is more known for her dance toons like "Into The Groove" or "Holiday", this song emphasises her ability to be serious and one can only hope that she will collaborate with Patrick Leonard again in the future, who I must say is one of her best collaboraters, but she has not worked with him since "Ray of Light" in 1998. I disagree with the person who says this movie overplaying the song, but maybe I'm biased because I like the song so much and haven't seen the film in probably 5 or more years.
