When Fievel was in the sewer with bugs coming after him, there was the reptilian thing that ate them. What was it?

I think it was a pike or other carnivorous fish. Notice how Fievel stops and watches it for a second or two before moving on. (And remember his fascination with fish on the boat trip?)
