Stolen moment

This is going to sound off topic, but I'll make my point at the end.
Several years ago there was a Pixar Movie that ended up on the silver screen called "A Bugs Life" which I'm sure the majority of the people reading this post I have no doubt have seen. I went to it on opening night, and while I enjoyed watching it, there was one thing that urked me. When the subject was brought up about building a great big bird to scare away Hopper and the rest of his crew forever, both my friend and I turned to eachother and said the same thing:

"The Great Bird of Minsk?"

Plus then later the bird gets stuck in the lauch ramp and has to be started moving again.

Did anyone else feel that this scenario was heavily barrowed from "An American Tail?"

It's possible but I really don't know. But I really wouldn't call that stealing
