How could the score not be nominated for an Oscar?

i know. it seems no one takes any cartoons seriously simply because the audience primarily are children. this score is one of the best.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. My opinion is tainted because it, along with the sequel, are my two favourite albums ever. But how the voters could listen to the main theme soar and not feel the same chills as they did with the E.T. theme..... I'll never know.
The Oscars are pathetic.

While I like to second guess the academy as much as the next guy (11 Oscars for Titanic... are you kidding me?!) they probably didn't nominate the score for this movie 'cause it's not very good.
