song, Somewhere out there
When I was in 6th grade, I was in the choir and we sang this song at a school concert, both at night, and the next day, during the concert for the whole school. Even though there were only 10 kids in the choir, we did pretty well. When I came back to the room with my class, the other kids made fun of the song a little, especially that high part at the beginning, which goes, "Beneath the pale moonlight..." I think everyone laughed at that when it came on in the movie, though, and I laughed along with them.
My sister had the 45 rpm of it with Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram singing it. It's one of my favorite movie songs.
I laugh every time I hear the Peanuts gang sing "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing", too, because every kid has screamed out the lyrics because they couldn't hit the high notes. I'm sure that's why "The Star Spangled Banner" has been jazzed up, too; singers can't stand to hit the high part, "And the rockets red glare..."!
