Burke said this installation had a substantial dollar value. Was WY actually thinking of retaking the installation eventually from the Xenomorphs? Would it even be militarily possible to retake the station from the Xenomorphs? I know they wanted their Xenomorph specimen. I am curious if they really wanted to keep Hadley's Hope, or if they would just abandon it. I am sure the place was extremely expensive and time consuming to construct, and the atmosphere was already partially terriformed. So Burke was probably telling the truth about the colony being valuable, even though he lied about everything else.

I'm not sure he thought it through. Money seems to be the only consideration on his mind with anything.

I almost seems like a knee-jerk response:
"Let's nuke this place"
"Do you have any idea what this costs!?"

I think Burke was just using the damage to company property angle as an excuse to disguise his real agenda of preserving the alien species. As he mentions a few seconds later, it was an “important species... that no one has the right to arbitrarily exterminate.” Burke was a psychopath who saw the alien as his ticket up the corporate ladder.
