shareThe “original” film was not original at all. It was the standard “people trapped in a house with a monster” crap that had been done hundreds of times before. Ah! BUT IT WAS IN OUTER SPACE! Big whoop! Cameron came along and injected real juice into the “original” cliche.

I don't remember anyone feeling that way. They went in a different direction this time, but did it in a way that didn't really contradict the original movie. It felt like a logical continuation.
