Best sci-fi DVD commentary?

I'm someone who enjoys listening to a DVD commentary, but I think the Aliens commentary really blows all the other sci-fi commentaries away. It's just so much fun and worked out so well.

I remember the Ghost Busters commentary with the three guys' silhoulette was great also, must check it out again.

The Thing (John Carpenter and Kurt Russell) is another fun sci-fi commentary.

Some of the most disappointing sci-fi commentaries would have to be:

Star Wars: A New Hope (made up of separate interviews, not related to what happens on screen)

2001: A Space Odyssey (same as above)

That takes me back! I switched to digital movies on Amazon and sold most of my DVDs, so I haven't listened to a DVD commentary in years. But in the early 2000's, when DVD was new (and I had no wife or kid, and much more free time), I listened to them all the time. I especially remember loving Conan the Barbarian and Big Trouble in Little China. And the Star Wars films had great little nuggets of information, as did the Extended LOTR films.

Best huh? They edited THREE separate commentarys into one. I was hoping to hear the full Cast commentary restored for 30th Anniversary Blu Ray but nope.

That's fine with me because the Aliens commentary actually comments on what's happening on screen as it happens, like you're watching the film with them, and they have a wonderful cast chemistry.

The Star Wars commentary, probably the biggest sci-fi film of them all, on the other hand, was given a really awful "commentary" which has no relevance to what actually happens on the screen. It's like they just inserted an interview over it.

Um no this isn't fine when we only got to hear incomplete commentarys on a Blu Ray Disc. Sigourney Weaver was said to have recorded her own personal commentary for Aliens what did she say to haven't been included in that edited mess?

Four full Aliens commentarys should be available for future downloads from Fox.

Although I love the commentary I have to agree with Hicks. I'd love to listen to what each of the groups say throughout the entire movie rather only hearing edited versions of each meshed into one.

The one I'd look forward to the most would be the commentary between Janette, Michael Bill, and Lance.

If Sigourney made one as well I'd be more than interested to listen to what she had to say.

true the they should of all been available on the bluray. but i guess thats something to put on the 4k release as i guess they gonna struggle to find any more stuff.

I didn't know Siggo recorded one, would love to hear hers!

The actors are great, but everytime it cuts back to Cameron it gets boring.

The one to rival it is the Ridley Scott only commentary of Alien. I could listen to that man talking about his movies all day!
